Bush open to letting in properly vetted Syrian Muslims
Although I am sure this was not the Sun’s intention, and that its motive was honest, its demand for Muslims to demonstrate their opposition to terrorism is problematic.
The boys were trying to get to Canada but probably would have been delighted to make it to the United States – where at least 31 of our states would not be delighted with them. “So we think the prudent, the responsible things take a pause in this particulate aspect of this refugee program, in order to verify that terrorists are not trying to infiltrate the refugee population”.
“That said, we are pleased to now see Senator Cruz offer more thoughtful and constructive comments to improve, rather than imperil the Christians of the Middle East who seem to be forgotten when it comes to the soundness of the strategies and tactics to defeat Daesh, on the matters of refugee status, and qualifying Middle East Christians as victims of a genocide”, he continued.
The Syrian civil war began in the spring of 2011 and, since that year, the US has accepted more than 2,187 refugees, but only 61 Christians. He’s also in favor of increasing the size of the Navy and boost Virginia class submarine production, according to his campaign.
“When I hear folks say that, ‘Well, maybe we should just admit the Christians but not the Muslims, ‘” Obama said, “when I hear political leaders suggesting that there would be a religious test for which person who’s fleeing from a war-torn country is admitted, when a few of those folks themselves come from families who benefited from protection when they were fleeing political persecution, that’s shameful”. Just two hours after sitting down with Bash, Cruz met protestors at an event who heckled him loudly as he worked the crowd: “We don’t want a president who discriminates against Muslims!” three young college students shouted at Cruz repeatedly for over 10 minutes. It’s easy to pick on vulnerable refugees who have no voice. “We should focus our efforts as it relates to the refugees for the Christians that are being slaughtered”.
Lt. Gen. Mike Flynn, head of the Defense Intelligence Agency till August, 2014: “I know that’s a scary thought, but in 2004, there were 21 total Islamic terrorist groups spread out in 18 countries”. This from the architect, against sound military advice, of removing all American troops from an Iraq so stable that Biden and Obama both bragged about it. They tried to take credit for the fruits of President Bush’s victorious surge that they opposed and pronounced a failure before it began. “And the notion that a few of those who have taken on leadership in his party would ignore all of that, that is not who we are”. It was the right one. It’s our better impulse. “Christians are suffering, Jews are suffering and other Muslims are suffering”. For instance, Cruz does not support American intervention in Syria, instead calling for an offensive air operation and to arm the Kurds in the region.
Can we start deportation proceedings against anyone who believes what Trump tells them? None have asked, so far, if we are vetting travelers from Belgium where these and other major terrorist bombings were planned and where weapons dealing to terrorist is rampant due to their weak gun control laws. But Christians that are persecuted at the hands of these Muslims have been persecuted due to their faith. And that’s what my administration intends to stand for.
