Bush says Trump is not qualified for ‘serious job’ of president
Asked if Trump should apologize, Bush said that won’t happen because “he’s not a serious person and … and therefore it’s hard to imagine him being president of the United States”.
Bush said he doesn’t agree with a comment Hillary Clinton made in a 2012 e-mail released this week where she characterized caucuses like the ones held in Iowa as being driven by the “parties’ extremes”. “That’s what we have to be doing, only America can lead in this regard”, said Bush.
Bush also said that working on a presidential campaign is the best way for young people to get involved in politics.
The focus on Clinton is nothing new for Bush but his hits on the former secretary of state have become key to his argument to Republican voters that he would be the strongest candidate to take on the likely Democratic nominee. Kelly Ayotte is a first-term senator from New Hampshire, Nikki Haley is the second-term governor of SC, and Susana Martinez is the second-term governor of New Mexico.
Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush hints that his vice presidential pick would be a woman. And Bush said he won’t be a candidate who tries to “fake people out” with “faux” anger. And while I know Right to Rise already has a plan in place to spend down its massive wad throughout February and March (and beyond) in hopes that Bush, eventually, emerges as the top choice, I just don’t see a lot of evidence that the race will yield that scenario unless there is a massive shakeup some time soon. “It’s just the nature of the beast”. “At the end of the day, you’ve got to offer a compelling argument to the path we’re on”.
The author of “The Wilderness” reports George W. Bush told his brother to say what he needed to say about the Iraq war without concern for the former president’s feelings.
Bush was interviewed for an episode of Iowa Press, which will air later this week.
“First of all, that book is crap”, Bush said.
