Bush to Supporters: ‘Donald Trump is a Jerk’
Trump, 69, was among the top issue being debated at the Democratic presidential debate in New Hampshire. We need to have everybody in our country focused on watching what happens and reporting it if it’s suspicious, reporting what you hear. “Dumb as a rock!”.
On a day packed with events in New Hampshire, Bush followed his “jerk” outburst against Trump by telling his audience: “I feel better now”. But as Bush engaged repeatedly with Trump in Tuesday’s debate, Kasich largely avoided taking on the real estate mogul. On Thursday, Bush told CNN’s John Berman that the approval Trump received from Vladimir Putin this week was a nod that he himself would not have wanted to receive.
“Just one other thing – I gotta get this off my chest – Donald Trump is a jerk”, Bush said to applause and laughter from the attendees in Contoocook, New Hampshire. “He has no clue”.
“I worry greatly that the rhetoric coming from the Republicans, particularly Donald Trump, is sending a message to Muslims here in the U.S. and literally around the world that there is a ‘clash of civilisations, ‘ that there is some kind of Western plot or even ‘war against Islam, ‘ which then I believe fans the flames of radicalisation”, she alleged. And the idea that he’s actually running for president and insulting people is deeply discouraging, to be honest with you, and I think we should reject that out of hand.
“A guy like that should not be the front-running candidate of our great party”.
It’s a huge get for the former Florida governor, who’s banking on a comeback win in New Hampshire and plans to campaign heavily there until the February 9 primary.
Still, Bush has a long way to climb.
The ad is nearly identical to a web video released by the campaign earlier this week spotlighting Bush’s attacks in the debate against Trump over past statements that he’s made.
On Saturday a voter asked Bush about his record on supporting people with disabilities.
That, Bush said, is ultimately up to the voters. She also attended the New Hampshire primary ballot filing with Bush and retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson.
“You’re the answer”, Bush said.
