Bush: Trump ‘a creature of Barack Obama’
“In a month from now they won’t [agree]”. However, Bush expressed optimism to NPR that “the emotion of the here and now” with Trump “will subside”.
Reflecting on the past, the candidate continues, “Look, it wasn’t that long ago that people wanted signatures on things, and now, forget that”, Bush then gives his own impersonation of the many voters he’s come across: “I want my damn selfie”. He said Trump “wakes up in his pajamas and watches the TV shows on Saturday and Sunday”.
“Just for the record, young people do it better than older people”, Mr. Bush said, before using his outstretched right arm to demonstrate proper selfie technique.
“[Obama’s] got this notion of what blue-collared, white voters kind of think that’s so out of touch”, he said. People are deeply anxious and angry about Washington D.C. not working, and so I respect that, and I understand that but I want to win. “You have divided the country up in all sorts of disparate parts”.
“But for Barack Obama, Donald Trump’s effect would not be almost as strong as it is”, Bush said in an interview on NPR. Bush and his team conceded at the time that changes were being made because of the rise of front-runner Donald Trump and in hopes of avoiding a sudden financial collapse like the one that ended Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker’s presidential campaign.
Trump has been leading in the polls for months, with a recent RealClearPolitics average of national polls showing the NY businessman ahead by 17 points. Bush received 3 percent support in a CNN/ORC poll released last week. It will have over 40 paid staff in New Hampshire and 20 apiece in Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada and SC.
Bush panned ideas such as Trump’s proposal to build a wall along the border and make Mexico pay for it, saying the suggestion was unserious. Marco Rubio, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and Ohio Gov. John Kasich.
The Bush camp also said it plans to increase its advertising on conservative talk radio stations in SC, a cheaper, lower-profile and less effective way to reach GOP base voters. “Be hard for anybody else to – to overcome it”.
