Bush: ‘Trump is a jerk’
CONTOOCOOK, N.H. – Jeb Bush was halfway through a town-hall-style event Saturday morning when he paused, announcing he had something he wanted to get off his chest. Bush, eager to energize his sagging campaign, brought the fight to Trump on the debate stage, repeatedly talking over the billionaire as the pair tangled.
“Donald is upset that Jeb got the best of him on Tuesday night at the debate and has been the one person to stand-up to his un-American praise of Vladimir Putin”, Bush communications director Tim Miller said in response to Trump’s Twitter tirade.
Campaigning in New Hampshire, Bush is calling Trump a “jerk”, saying he “has no clue” on foreign policy and whacking him for lacking intellectual curiosity.
One of the best things that was done, and George W. Bush did this, and I give him credit, was to reach out to Muslim-Americans and say, we’re in this together.
She continued, “And we also need to make sure that the really discriminatory messages that Trump is sending around the world don’t fall on receptive ears”. Bush is competing with Kasich, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and Florida Sen.
“You can not insult your way to the presidency”, he said, reiterating an attack line he’s been firing at Trump. “And I hope you’re going to reject it by voting for me”, he told the audience.
It’s a welcome approach to some New Hampshire voters.
On Saturday, Bush made an explicit plea to the voters here, asking them for their support and for their active involvement in his campaign. And he suggested the wrong choice could hurt the state’s first-in-the-nation primary.
“A lot of people are understandably reacting out of fear and anxiety about what they’re seeing [with terrorist attacks], and Mr. Trump has a great capacity to use bluster and bigotry to inflame people and to make them think there are easy answers to very complex questions”, Clinton said.
