Busquets only thinks about the clubs world cup !
Paulinho scored in the final minute of stoppage time on Sunday as Chinese champions Guangzhou Evergrande beat Mexico’s Club America 2-1 to advance to the semifinals of the Club World Cup.
Guangzhou, who have won the Asian Champions League in two of the last three seasons, haven’t lost in 28 competitive games and have already won a quarter final tie in the Club World Cup to set up the date with Barcelona.
“It will be hard but after winning the Chinese Super League and the Asian Champions League, we can dare to dream”, Scolari said on Saturday.
Scolari guided Brazil to their fifth World Cup triumph in 2002 but was beaten by Ajax and Manchester United in the Intercontinental Cup – the forerunner of the Club World Cup – as manager of Gremio and Palmeiras respectively.
The transition was also easy for Scolari since the football team has five Brazilian players, including former Tottenham player Paulinho and Ricardo Goulart.
“I’m not happy with this result, ” Club America coach Ignacio Ambriz said.
With his side flying high after Sunday’s victory, Scolari has challenged them to keep on believing when they take on European champions Barca in Yokohama on Thursday. “I know that we can get past the first hurdle”. “Under Lippi we were very much an attack-minded team, but Scolari has transformed us into a much more all-round team, capable of attacking and defending well”.
“It’s up to us to make history”, he said.
The other semi-final takes place the day before (on Wednesday) in Osaka and pits Japanese champions Sanfrecce Hiroshima against Argentina’s Copa Libertadores holders River Plate. “So not having Neymar is a slight advantage for us but they are still a great team”.
