Buy an HTC One M9, get another HTC smartphone for free
It isn’t exactly a state secret that HTC is struggling financially after failing move enough units of its current flagship smartphone, the One M9. But this launch will certainly make life of buyers more complicated by introducing a new smartphone in an already crowded One-series smartphones by HTC. It will launch in Taiwan on November 21st. The smartphone is now open for pre-orders via HTC’s e-commerce website in Taiwan. However, there is no news on by when it will be available in the rest of the markets worldwide.
The One M9s is powered by a MediaTek 64-bit 8-core Helio X10 application processor in place of the Qualcomm 64-bit 8-core Snapdragon 810 CPU used in the original One M9. As compared to One M9, the M9s is a budget phone with 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage (expandable up to 2TB with microSD card).
At the back, the One M9s packs a decent 13-megapixel photo snapper that features dual-LED flash, autofocus, OIS (optical image stabilization) and video recording.
The device also comes equipped with an UltraPixel front camera.
Connectivity-wise, the One M9s offers a wide range of options, including 4G TLE, Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi, NFC (Near Field Communication), microUSB 2.0 and Global Positioning System with AGPS, GLONASS and Beidou. Currently, the only other device apart from HTC One M8 GPE that runs on Android M is the HTC One A9 that comes preinstalled with the Android 6.0 OS. It measures 144.60 x 69.70 x 9.61 (height x width x thickness) and weighs 157.00 grams. A 2840mAh non-removable battery completes the package. However, no details have been revealed about the availability of the device in India and other global markets.
HTC has just announced yet another mid-range Android smartphone in the One family.
