Caitlyn Jenner Has a Classy Response to Protesters
A video of the event has surfaced, which shows Caitlyn attempting to reason with the group who continue to shout aggressively at her. One protestor can be heard shouting “You are an insult to trans people, you are an insult to women”.
Caitlyn Jenner was jeered by transgender protesters Thursday in Chicago after delivering a speech at a fundraiser, and many in the angry mob accused her of not being a proper advocate for the trans community.
Caitlyn Jenner had a rough night last night as she emerged from the Hilton Hotel in Chicago after giving a speech to over 1000 people.
The group, calling itself “I Ain’t Cait” (well played), told Jenner that she had “no right” representing the LGBT community.
Or, should Caitlyn’s trans-detractors remember what it’s like to have insults hurled at you just because you don’t meet someone else’s expectations?
Jenner has been taking criticism from transgender activists for the remarks since. “I thought she handled the situation with poise”.
The group, who dubbed their protest “I Ain’t Cait” on Facebook, explained their issues with Caitlyn stem from economic inequality.
The reality star had been speaking at a luncheon held by an LGBT charity in Chicago and attempted to engage with the protesters as she left, sparking a confrontation which was caught on camera.
“She rode the white male privilege train to the last stop, got off and bought a ticket back because she can”, Black said.
In an episode of her reality show, Jenner said people should not be totally dependent social security, even though transgender people are often discriminated against in employment. Jenner talked about throwing herself into sports so she did not have to face her gender identity struggle, raising her family despite that struggle and living life after she finally chose to transition. The event’s Master of Ceremonies, Christina Kahrl was perplexed by the reaction to Caitlyn’s role in the event, and shared as to why she believes that Jenner was the ideal speaker for the annual occasion that is now in its 7th year. “We’ve got to raise money to benefit trans Chicagoans, and Caitlyn Jenner‘s going to be a great draw”. ‘Why should I work?
