California Lottery: Winning Powerball ticket sold in LA area
None of the winners’ identities have yet been revealed, although in Chino Hills, crowds descended on the 7-Eleven store that sold the winning ticket.
Representatives for the Tennessee and Florida lotteries couldn’t immediately be reached for comment.
Lottery officials said the winning ticket was sold at a 7-Eleven store in Chino Hills, a suburb east of Los Angeles in California.
Had there been no victor, the jackpot could have grown to $2 billion, with a cash value of $1.24 billion, ahead of Saturday’s drawing, the Texas Lottery Commission said.
Since the jackpot was last hit on November 4, 2015, a total of $2.65 billion in Powerball tickets have been sold, Grief said.

The next drawing is at 10:59 pm ET on Wednesday, and there will probably be at least one victor for the record-shattering $1.5 billion jackpot that’s up for grabs.
The winning numbers are 4, 8, 19, 27, 34 and 10 for the Powerball drawing Wednesday January 13.
The odds of winning the big prize are 1 in 292,201,338, according to MarketWatch.
If there had not been a victor, the jackpot would’ve increased yet again, further shattering lottery records.
