Calling Pakistani terrorists, Mumbai cops thrashed Asif, Danish
In yet another case of police brutality, two Muslim youths were allegedly thrashed by cops in Mumbai.
Police officials caught the duo from near Bandra Reclamation and beaten them black and blue with belts and batons for around three hours in Bandra police station till 6.30 am. Subsequently, their parents were ringed up and informed to take their sons back home.
Asian Age reported that the boys managed to make a video when the inhuman treatment was meted out to both of them inside the police station. Throughout the night, the boys were brutally beaten up by the policemen. The parents stressed on registering a complaint against the police officers for leaving their children in a half-murdered state.
Police said Asif was taken to Bhabha hospital for medical examination to ascertain whether his admission was necessary but doctors there said that his injuries were minor.
“Samajwadi Party activists gathered at the hospital and asked the authorities to admit Asif who was seriously injured”.
“Asif has been sitting in the hospital premises on a wheel chair with a plaster in his left hand since morning”, Mr Dangle said.
To avoid any untoward incident, cops were deployed outside Bhabha hospital. Since the police refused to register FIR, they approached the Mumbai Police Commissioner Ahmed Javed who has assured an inquiry in the matter.
“DCP Satyanarayan Choudhary has been asked to conduct the probe and submit his report”.
Asif’s uncle while speaking to the media said that the police are now making baseless claims that they were attacked by Asif initially, while the truth is that they also threatened him of sending him to Pakistan since they labeled him a Pakistani Muslim.
“Pawar also asked them to leave the country while dubbing them as Pakistani agents”, a relative of Asif claimed. However, later it was revealed that the teenagers were engineering students studying in Rizvi college and had no links with any tainted organization.
