Cam Newton Fires Back At Richard Sherman, Calls Karma Comment ‘Irrelevant’
SEAHAWKS Defence – OVERALL (7), RUSH (14T), PASS (10).
These teams know each other well, they’ve faced off seven times in the past five seasons. Seattle still looks like a playoff team, but then again it looked abysmal last week in Tampa Bay. With this loss, the 2016 Panthers season will be over. The turnover only led to a field goal for Seattle, but it was the start of an otherwise forgettable performance by the Panthers that provided another blow to the dwindling playoff hopes of the reigning NFC champions. Not only is 4-7 a big hole to climb out of, but the Panthers are too banged up on the offensive line to allow a late-season run.
Poor Cam Newton, who came so close to winning an MVP and Super Bowl this past season.
Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman has made a habit this season of critiquing National Football League officials, dinging them for everything from missing calls to bias against his team to substandard knowledge of replay rules.
Kelvin Benjamin and Greg Olsen are the primary receivers for Newton. Center Ryan Kalil (shoulder) and his backup, Gino Gradkowski (knee), were placed on injured reserve.
PANTHERS OLB Thomas Davis had an INT, a FR and 7 tackles in Week 12 loss.
While it’s unclear if Kuechly will be available after suffering an apparent concussion November 17, the encouraging aspect was that he traveled with the Panthers to the West Coast and was on the sideline (though not in uniform) for the Oakland game. Michael Griffin would start if Coleman can’t go.
Wilson, who had the second-lowest passer rating of his career last week, rebounded to complete 26 of 36 passes for 277 yards and one touchdown while also running three times for 29 yards. Seahawks looking to remain only undefeated team at home in NFL. The NFL Odds for the game have the Seahawks favored by a comfortable margin to pick up the win.
Wilson appeared slowed by an ankle injury earlier this season but appeared to hit his stride recently with 902 passing yards, six touchdowns and no interceptions in victories over Buffalo, New England and Philadelphia. Wilson rushed for season-high 80 yards last week vs. Buccaneers. The Panthers rank 13th with 109.5 yards per game but just ended a stretch of three consecutive games with fewer than 100 yards on the ground. The Seahawks are also making a change at right tackle with Bradley Sowell stepping in to replace Garry Gilliam.
Running back Thomas Rawls skipped into the end zone to cap a 9-play, 92-yard scoring drive by the Seahawks on the team’s very next set of downs.
The line will be going against a defense that ranks fourth in the National Football League in sacks with 31.
Despite their losing record, 5-6, the Indianapolis Colts are within one game of the division lead and if the Houston Texans lose their third-straight game at the Green Bay Packers, Indy could find themselves atop the AFC South by Monday night. Stewart might be good option.
