Cambridge marches on London to protest Trump presidency
At least one Lafayette resident will be among the thousands of women from across the nation converging on the nation’s Capitol for the Women’s March on Washington one day after Donald Trump is sworn in as president.
Kate Stamper, a senior at UT, will be one of the students speaking at the march.
Organizers expect at least 4,000 people at the Nevada marches, and more than 200,000 at the march and rally in Washington.
The march in Lafayette will be this Saturday at 2 pm.
Another local woman will be going to the State Capital in Boise to march.
Earlier this week it was reported that the march would start at 12:30 p.m. – but Stavely said she hadn’t gotten a permit from city police. CNN reported that the Women’s March on Washington is a statement to Trump after his inauguration.
Women across Pennsylvania are preparing to attend the Women’s Rights March in Washington this weekend.
Marissa McTasney says Canadian organizers can not keep up with the avalanche of email about the marches.
“I chose to still host the dinner, call it “Girlfriends Gone Nasty” for all of us Nasty Women”.
After the march, supporters are invited to share a meal at the school and discuss other ways to organize within the Bemidji community.
The youngest of this local group of seven leaving for the march.Heard says he wants to show others that he is not necessarily against Trump but instead the message he believes the President-elect is sending women.
Amid the all-nighters over the past week, she said she’s gained “so many skills that I didn’t have before”. Those attending plan to march to Market Street, up to Third Street, and then loop back to the plaza.

“It’s important for me to bring them because I want them to be social justice warriors and know how important activism is and standing up for the right thing”, Donovan told News 3.
“We’re concerned with what’s going to be happening with immigrants rights”.
