Cameron says Assad could stay in power for transition

“So far, the problem has been that Russian Federation and Iran have not been able to contemplate the end state of Syria without Assad“, Cameron said, adding that he would work with any country to defeat Islamic State militants.

“If we are to succeed in defeating terrorism, the government in Damascus can not be weakened”, Rouhani stressed.

His announcement came amid a flurry of diplomatic initiatives launched on the sidelines of the UNGA to end the Syrian Civil War and destroy the threat the Islamic State (also known as ISIL, or ISIS) poses to the region and beyond.

This is one theory, but there is not a firm conclusion within the Obama administration about why Russian President Vladimir Putin is sending aircraft, tanks and missiles into the wartorn country, several senior US officials told CNN. “Why aren’t we letting ISIS go and fight Assad and then we pick up the remnants?”

Mr Obama and other western leaders, including French President Francois Hollande, maintain that Mr Al Assad’s brutal war against rebels is primarily responsible for the overwhelming majority of civilian deaths and for the growth and appeal of ISIL.

The attacks near Hit and Kubaysah were part of a strategy to hamper Islamic State’s ability to produce improvised explosive devices and prepare for attacks, which will set “the conditions in Anbar for the eventual liberation of the province by”, said Colonel, a public affairs officer for the task force, in the later statement.

USA officials, who have long cast Assad as the primary source of instability in Syria, assert that the Syrian leader’s brutal crackdown provided an opening for jihadi groups and that the crisis can not be resolved until a political transition is negotiated that requires him to leave power. However, youth unemployment still hovers around 24%, and the World Bank says Iran needs to create 8.5mn new jobs over the next two years.

World leaders glided though the opening of a United Nations gathering Monday that aims to wrestle with crises like a historic flood of refugees, the rise of groups like the Islamic State and the headache that binds them – Syria’s conflict.

The Iraqi government, backed by the United Stated for years, is now taking another independent geopolitical step towards its neighbors, Iran and Syria, as well as Russian Federation – it’s going to share intelligence without Washington’s approval.

“The West has – in effect – owned up to their destructive policies and are now having to reach out to other potential partners – Russia, Iran – to salvage a situation that they are responsible for”.

“Britain did work to train moderate opposition forces but we haven’t trained enough, they haven’t been successful enough so they aren’t a big enough presence”, Mr Cameron said.

France began the bombing campaign inside Syria, despite the not having approval from Syria’s government.

To quote the words of Colin Powell, U.S. former Secretary of State, “War should be the politics of last resort”.

“Public opinion wants the Saudi government to act immediately on its worldwide responsibility to secure immediate consular access to identify the bodies and arrange for their repatriation without any delay”, Rohani said.

There have a few media reports from the Middle East that Russian military jets have already started carrying out air strikes in Syria.
