Camille Cosby Slated To Be Deposed Monday In Defamation Case
Bill Cosby has repeatedly denied allegations made by dozens of women who have accused him of sexual misconduct or assault dating back to the 1960s.
Bill Cosby’s wife is slated to answer questions under oath Monday in a defamation lawsuit brought against her husband by seven women who say the comedian sexually assaulted them decades ago.
“The Cosbys’ last-minute filing is the latest in a series of increasingly brazen attempts to interfere with the deposition of Mrs. Cosby”, the filing said.
Bill Cosby’s wife, Camille, is scheduled to be deposed Monday in Springfield.
A judge ruled earlier this month that Mrs Cosby has to testify, however she may refuse to answer questions that call for testimony prohibited by the MA marital disqualification rule.
Bill Cosby’s wife Camille must face lawyers’ questions Monday. They cited a MA rule – similar to those exists in most other states – protecting “private conversations” between spouses that occur “during their marriage”. Since Mrs. Cosby has been her husband’s manager for years, she may be probed about what she knew and when she knew it. Presumably, Mrs. Cosby knew where and when her husband was performing.
Cosby’s lawyers doing everything they can to keep her from having to testify in her husband’s defamation case. But the judge has not issued a ruling on it, representatives for Cosby and the plaintiffs told CNN Sunday night. It is unclear why the motion to delay was approved as a previous request was denied last Friday.
Tamara Green filed the MA lawsuit in December 2014.
Bill Cosby is suing several of his accusers for defamation, and the civil suit compelling Camille Cosby’s testimony includes accusations of defamation from both sides.
