Can Microsoft bruise Apple with launch of its first Windows laptop?
According to Tuula Rytila, Corporate Vice President of Marketing for phones and new devices; Microsoft feels that it is “the best distribution for this family of devices”. It’s the company’s first proper laptop, after spending years focusing on mobile and tablet devices. It can bend and flex in a manner similar to a conventional laptop, while still allowing the screen to be detached like the traditional Surface PCs.
Microsoft Surface Book is considered to be a serious MacBook Pro competitor with Microsoft proudly claiming that it is “the most powerful laptop on the planet”. Microsoft Surface Book offers users a touch screen feature, which the rival device does not provide.
There is no doubt that Microsoft’s Surface Pro 3 has seen tremendous sales growth than its predecessor. With the announcement of the iPad Pro, Apple has begun chasing after Microsoft in a category it pioneered with the original Surface.
The Microsoft Surface? Oh yeah, that’s that sorta-tablet thing.
The Surface Book is not available yet, but Microsoft is already taking advance orders ahead of the notebook’s scheduled October 26 launch.
Microsoft has finally unveiled the newest Surface Pro at their hardware event in New York. The Surface Book laptop has a battery that lasts for twelve hours, so there is no need to recharge the battery, as it is enough to last the day.
With the Surface Book, Microsoft is pushing into Apple’s wheelhouse with a premium metal laptop costing $1,500. With the price range from $1,499 to $2,699, the device looks really promising. Although the Surface still represents a small part of Microsoft’s overall business, it provides a window into the company’s various ad-supported services, including search and maps. The new Lumia 950 and 950XL can work as full-on desktop computers by attaching them to a keyboard, mouse and monitor. Both also have a 20 megapixel PureView camera with a dedicated external camera button, Zeiss optics, triple RGB flash and image stabilization.
