Can Play anywhere: Jamie Vardy could join Real Madrid – Claudio Ranieri
Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri has been highlighting the health benefits of pizza after delivering on his promise to treat his players to the Italian dish.
The winning goal came in the second-half after a sloppy giveaway from Brede Hangeland saw the ball fall at the feet of Riyad Mahrez, who played the in-form Jamie Vardy through on goal.
“Every match is hard in the Premier League”.
“We have a training session and I ask them when they want to eat pizza”.
Vardy was playing for a non-league side Fleetwood Town as recently as in 2012.
Vardy has earned his newfound level of recognition, there is no doubt, but it’s quite a different thing to imagine the 28-year-old lining out alongside Gareth Bale, Cristiano Ronaldo and co.at the Bernabeu. He then led the defending from the front, scything down Bakary Sako in the last minute as Palace, normally so deadly away from home and on the break, were for once neutralised.
The Leicester City striker has amassed ten goals from ten games already this season and has also earned his first England caps.
He added: “It does not matter what I think about the penalty shouts, it’s down to the ref and he has not given them”. I must say thank you to all the English staff because they support me, they help me to know everything about the club, to choose and to put the players in the right positions.
“Not many teams can buy him now”.
“I can’t fault our commitment and effort but that little bit of flair we needed was missing and we couldn’t find it”.
It was too good for Crystal Palace who are struggling for goals and manager Alan Pardew was grumpy afterwards.
