The F-35 is the U.S. Pentagon’s most expensive weapons program, aiming to replace a wide range of existing aircraft for the USA and several partner countries. The prospect of a more open, positive and productive government is what Canadians voted for, and now they’ll be watching closely to see whether or not the new prime minister can deliver on his promises.
The list of ministers on the newly revised government website also lists only ministers, not ministers of state.
The new prime minister now has the chance to restore his father’s Liberal legacy, providing a generational change in the party’s leadership. Trudeau – whose father, Pierre Elliott Trudeau, was one of Canada’s longest serving prime ministers – has also chosen two aboriginal MPs for his first cabinet.
The Star suggests the cabinet will have 10 members from Ontario, six from Quebec, five from Atlantic Canada, three from B.C. and one each from Manitoba, Alberta and Saskatchewan and one representing the three northern territories.
The Cabinet included rookie politician Bill Morneau as finance minister and former Liberal leader Stephane Dion as foreign minister, a mix of experience and fresh faces reflected in the rest of the team of ministers.
