Canada PM Justin Trudeau New Cabinet Members Promotes Gender & Culture Equality
Trudeau hailed his chosen ministers as the advent of “government by Cabinet” and promised a new era of transparency after ten years of Conservative rule that largely shunned the media.
When Trudeau won a majority government on October 19, much of the ensuing worldwide coverage focused on his physical appearance.
The team also held its first cabinet meeting on Parliament Hill this afternoon.

Mr Trudeau, the first son of a prime minister to take office in Canada and the second-youngest in the country’s history, has grabbed worldwide attention for his good looks and retail approach to politics.
For his part, Trudeau believes the pipeline should be approved, but does not think that that the disagreement should weigh so heavily on US-Canada relations.
But the new faces are not just limited in Canada’s cabinet.
Chrystia Freeland (Toronto) could be foreign affairs or global trade minister.

At first blush, that seemed to suggest Trudeau had, in fact, opted for a model used previously where a few junior ministers, paid a lower salary and lacking the full powers of a cabinet minister, are nevertheless sworn into the Privy Council to function as assistants to the senior ministers in certain complex, large departments.
Trudeau’s victory should improve Canada’s ties with the United States. The traditionalist leader was additionally irritated by Mr Obama’s hesitance to affirm the Keystone XL pipeline that was meant to transport petroleum from Alberta to Texas.
