Canadian PM Justin Trudeau Poses With Gay Dads, Feeds Our Thirst
Any federal aid to struggling Quebec aircraft maker Bombardier Inc must be based on a strong business case and not on “emotion, politics or symbols”, Liberal Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said on Tuesday.
We Day Ottawa attendees will get a visit from the prime minister today.
One can’t buy tickets to We Day.
WE Day, founded by philanthropist brothers Craig and Marc Kielburger, is an annual event that celebrates youth achievements and raises money for various Canadian and global organizations.
“Because what you do, what you say, the choices you make, how you reach out to your classmates, to your friends, your family…how you shape the community you group up in, that’s the leadership you’re showing right now”. She said the audience should think about how they treat themselves.
She encouraged young people in attendance to “really, really foster so much love and respect for yourself”. “By encouraging our nation’s most valuable asset – our youth – to be agents of positive change, we are helping them make their voices heard, and become leaders in their communities”.
Trudeau is the third-youngest prime minister in history and the first Gen-Xer to hold the country’s highest office.
The photo is being celebrated as a sign that Trudeau’s government will be more forward-thinking when it comes to LGBT issues.
Trudeau said he recognizes that “labour is not a problem, but a solution”.
The picture is of Trudeau’s newly appointed president of the Treasury Board, MP Scott Brison with his husband, Maxime St-Pierre, and their twins, Claire and Rose.
“Memo to Liberal MPs: If you are still waiting for Justin Trudeau to call and offer you a cabinet post, you can stop the wait”, the report read, adding “Trudeau has already selected his new cabinet and made his telephone calls to the lucky incoming ministers several days ago”.
