Canadian restaurant unveils the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups burger
OK, get ready for another dose of meat mayhem.
If the candy stuffed patty wasn’t satisfying or terrifying enough, the restaurant has added an extra layer of Reese’s crumbs on top.
Turns out that the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup is America’s favorite Halloween candy, earning the highest number of votes nationwide.
The Works Gourmet Burger Bistro, which has several locations across Ontario, has never shied away from over-the-top creations, but this is the most extreme thus far.
Each of the stuffed burgers costs $15.98 Canadian, which is about $12 US, or three geese and an amusing anecdote about Brendan Shanahan.
Foodie website Delish.com certainly thinks so, saying “this burger leaves a unusual taste in our mouths”.
“It’s so wrong that it’s right”, said one excited poster. Online reaction to the burger has ranged from “Moving to Canada” to “This is just wrong”, but those who have actually tried the burger have said that it is definitely worth the hype. “Hubby and I both loved it!”
Meanwhile, the Works itself, which started in 2001 with a single restaurant in the nation’s capital, Ottawa, claimed on Facebook that “people are loving it!” She suggests only one to two pieces a day and that the candy is eaten along with a healthy snack.
