Another Powerball drawing failed to produce a victor on Saturday after reaching a staggering $900 million jackpot earlier in the day – by far the largest ever.

According to the Arkansas Lottery Director, in one week, the state sold $19 million worth of Powerball tickets, nearly triple the amount it typically sells.

A ticket qualifies for a $1 million prize if it matches the five white balls without the red Powerball. Even the estimated cash value of the jackpot – around $930 million – generates an expected value north of $3.50.
The next drawing will be held on Wednesday night.
The largest Powerball jackpot prior to the current one was taken home by a Zephyrhills woman who won a $590 million jackpot in 2013. Powerball has what’s known in casinos as a “progressive jackpot”, which means the money increases incrementally each time it’s played.
Tickets cost $2 each. Some people have said not to bother to buy a ticket because the odds are too long, you won’t win.
As of Tuesday morning, the jackpot for the Powerball Lottery has hit $1.5 billion.
“It’s been fun, but somebody needs to win”, Thornbrugh said.
“They take birthdays, anniversaries, but the problem is that all of their numbers are going to be between 1 & 31 because the most number of days in the month is 31 right?”
But I still think the size of the jackpot is getting so big it’s stupid big, so big the lottery’s signs can’t count that high.
