Canadiens star Pacioretty injures knee
Pacioretty will be held out of action for 12 weeks due to a knee injury.
The injury occurred on Thursday during an off-ice workout. The good news is the injury will not require surgery.
Montreal Canadiens left-winger Max Pacioretty has injured his knee and will miss most of the pre-season the team announced on Friday. The Canadiens open up their 2015-16 season on October 7 against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
The 26-year-old Pacioretty, who plays left wing on Montreal’s top line, led the team with 37 goals, his second straight campaign of more than 35 goals. He had another five goals and two assists in 11 playoff games.
Pacioretty has dealt with injuries off and on throughout his career, but has been making the most of his prime seasons.
