Capcom is putting together a Resident Evil 2 remake
People waiting to get their hands on Resident Evil 7 have been treated to some information as an image made its way out online that seemed to suggest that the new game could be a Resident Evil: Zero remake. Back in 2002 they remade the original “Resident Evil” for the Gamecube, and just earlier this year they released an HD remaster of the remake for modern systems.
While it is still unknown what platforms the remake will be on, and a release date is also still unknown, the project is surely in the works. With this, fans can assume that other remakes may come as well. While Reborn isn’t on par visually with other modern titles, the game still looks impressive. After years of asking Capcom to remake the game, the voices of the fans weren’t being heard until Producer H pitched a proposal to the big bosses and even posted an update on Facebook, as reported by Gamespot. And to no surprise, the reaction could not have been more positive.
Boarder also foresaw an industry-wide decline that could be sooner than later if game publishers, such as Capcom, would not invest in new properties, and with time publishers would, in the end, have to deal with reduced profits on rehashed or remade titles such as “Resident Evil 2″ Remake. Fans were absolutely ecstatic upon hearing the news and the speculations have only just begun.
Although formats for “Resident Evil 2″ are not yet specified, fans are most likely to expect the game to be available on today’s popular game consoles and devices like PS4, Xbox One and of course, the ever so reliable PC. It’s been 17 years since the game launched on the original PlayStation and just think what could be done. There are some aspects that should not be changed, however, as the game’s charm and essence could be lost. Sure, the conversations could be cheesy at times, but having reworked dialog to fit a more serious tone could hinder the experience. While the controls may be a bit jarring for newcomers, the overall feel of the game should remain intact. However, when it comes to remakes and remasters of classic games, can you blame them? Resident Evil 2 is that game. However, he assured diehard fans that they could anticipate on various exciting things in the future from the “Resident Evil” game franchise. Haven’t they waited long enough?
