Following the events of the Age of Ultron, the collective governments of the world pass an act created to regulate all superhuman activity. Once the iconic role was filled by relative newcomer, Tom Holland (The Impossible, In the Heart of the Sea), it was only a matter of time before we finally got to see how he fit into the grand scheme of everything. Get ready to pick a side and join the nonstop action playing out on two fronts when Marvel’s “Captain America: Civil War” opens in US theaters on May 6, 2016.
Here’s the official plot synopsis.
One of this year’s big superhero movies will be “Captain America: Civil War”, which will pit Iron Man against Captain America.
The alliance between Steve Rogers and Tony Stark has been held together by a common goal in the past, but as the new trailer for Captain America: Civil War demonstrates, that doesn’t mean that it won’t fall apart when put under stress.
This means packing in almost the entire lineup of heroes from previous Marvel films, including Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Emily VanCamp, Don Cheadle, Jeremy Renner, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, and Paul Rudd. But after another incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability, headed by a governing body to oversee and direct the team. Between the added sneak peeks and the shiny new footage of #TeamCap and #TeamIronMan facing off, Marvel fans everywhere had plenty of exciting things over which they could rejoice.
