Cardinals DE Freeney Made The Play Of The Year Against The Vikings

Arizona’s Week 15 game at the Philadelphia Eagles was flexed to NBC’s Sunday Night Football.

That was not the case in the opening game of Week 14.

It was hard to believe the Vikings could compete as well as they did against Arizona in a 23-20 loss Thursday night.

It was an excellent way to kick off the 2015 fantasy football playoffs. Johnson showed great patience in letting holes develop in the line and physically pounded the ball for as many yards he could.

But there is no doubt which position lead the way on Thursday. He became the first player with multiple 4,000-yard seasons for the Cardinals. Palmer also tied Tom Brady for the most passing touchdowns this season. But both Watt and coach Bill O’Brien said they don’t expect the injury to hamper him.

In the end, they simply dropped the ball. Fantasy owners have to love the consistent production. Arizona limited him to 13 yards in the second half.

Let’s set the scene: 13 seconds left in the fourth quarter, and the Vikings, who trail 23-20, have the ball at the Cardinals’ 31-yard line. Packers 24 and Vikings 21.

However, they still had Palmer, and they have perhaps the best speed in the NFL. Palmer was 12 of 16 for 161 yards. They beat Arizona’s blitzes with screens and quick throws created to give Bridgewater somewhere to go with the ball before he was under pressure. An eight-yard catch converted a third down to keep the drive going, and two plays later Brown got open deep and took the pass down the sideline for a 65-yard touchdown. “We shot ourselves in the foot today, with three turnovers, but for the most part, guys did a great job of executing the game plan”. But Freeney’s big play with less than 10 seconds remaining bailed out a defensive unit that was picked apart by Bridgewater for most of the evening.

Who can blame them?

Fitzgerald caught 71 passes for 798 yards and only four touchdowns in 2012, with his touchdown and yardage totals the lowest since his 2004 rookie season.
