Careening car ends up on roof of Southern California house
On Wednesday afternoon, around 3:40 p.m., a auto somehow ended up on the roof of a garage at a home in Palos Verdes Estates.
Firefighters were called to a home on the Palos Verdes peninsula when a auto wound up on the roof of a building.
A vehicle landed on top of the roof of a Palos Verdes Estates home on February 3, 2016.
The force of the crash launched the Lexus onto the roof of the orange tile roof garage.
The vehicle veered off the road after hitting the parked cars, Palos Verdes Estates Police Sgt. Erick Gaunt told ABC News.
A woman who was inside the house escaped injury, while the driver was taken to a local hospital but not seriously hurt.
Police summoned a crane to pull the auto off the roof.
The driver, whose age wasn’t known, hit two parked cars then continued down the roadway and drifted into the yard of a home.
Multiple emergency vehicles responded, and the fire department’s Urban Search & Rescue team worked to secure the auto so it could be removed. Officials said the driver of the crash suffered injuries, but described them as non-critical injuries.
