“Careful: You’re Extremely Hot”, says Starbucks Cup
19-year-old Laura went to her local Starbucks and ordered her usual latte, only to be struck by a garish graffiti on her otherwise pristine drinking vessel.
However, a couple of words had been edited out with the message now reading “careful, you’re extremely hot”.
A Starbucks barista in the United Kingdom has people asking, ‘creepy or flattering?’, after the barista wrote a flirty message on a patrons cup.
Although her mum clearly didn’t approve of the gesture Roberts, who visits the Starbucks branch regularly, didn’t mind the barista’s bold move.
The coffee cup sparked outrage, and support, from internet commentators, as many had found the message to be “creepy” and in poor taste.
Laura Roberts, 19, picked up her drink from Starbucks when she noticed “read it”, with an arrow, scrawled down the side.
And it looks like the unfortunate barista’s feelings will not be reciprocated by Miss Roberts, as she is engaged to marry someone else.
One Facebook user said, “I’m sure he’s fallen foul of a few harassment laws there somewhere”, with another user branding it as “grim”. But another, Phil Goddard, posted: “If someone wrote that on my double espresso it would make my day”.
‘People should just take it as a joke and I want him to know that. He’s very nice but sadly for him I’m taken’.
The 20-year-old creative manager posted a picture of her cup on her Twitter page.
Starbucks have not yet commented on the matter.
