Carey Price: Out at least six weeks
While the Habs have not released details, it’s believed that Price is dealing with another knee injury. He was playing in his third game since returning to the lineup Wednesday night in NY when he aggravated the injury in a 5-1 win over the Rangers.
Montreal Canadiens goalie Carey Price will miss at least six weeks with a lower-body injury that will not require surgery, the National Hockey League’s leading team said on Monday.
Price missed nine games earlier in the season with what the club called a “lower-body injury”.
There are reports Price has injured his right knee and may have torn ligaments or his meniscus, while others speculate he has torn a muscle.
The Montreal Canadiens will be without their Hart Trophy-winning goaltender until at least mid-January.
With Price out, Dustin Tokarski will serve as Condon’s backup.
In his first 12 games of the season, Price has posted a raw save percentage of.934.
The Montreal Canadiens wanted to show that they were more than just Carey Price this season, but they probably didn’t want it to happen like this. They can afford to not be flawless over the next six weeks, but will have to find another solution if Condon struggles with the heavy workload.
