Carolina Panthers’ Cam Newton gets TV show on Nickelodeon
Nickelodeon is ready to take things in a whole new direction in their upcoming docu-series I Wanna Be.
He’s won a Heisman, made two Pro Bowls, and now Cam Newton will share something in common with Doug amusing , Tommy Pickles and Arnold from Hey Arnold (sorry if those are dated references, I haven’t exactly watched the channel over the past decade-and-a-half).
Scheduled to air in 2016, the 20-episode series will shoot after the Panthers’ season.
The quarterback says he wants to create positive messages to inspire the next generation. “And to be able to do it all on Nickelodeon – a network I grew up watching – is extremely exciting”, said Newton.
“…decorating award-winning cakes to making it to a Broadway stage.”
Born May 11, 1989 in College Park, GA, Cam Newton began playing football at a young age.
After the game, Newton was asked about his front flip. After an impressive junior year at Westlake High School, Newton was heavily recruited by colleges throughout the US , ranking #2 on the 2007 Rivals.com prospect list.
The show will be produced by Magical Elves with Dan Cutforth, Jane Lipsitz and Newton serving as executive producers. Inaccurate at times, Newton is completing only 52.9 percent of his passes, but his mobility and ability to break the pocket could be devastating for a Saints defense that has allowed both Carson Palmer and Jameis Winston to make plays outside of the pocket in the first two weeks.
