Carolina Panthers Win, Barely, For 14-0 Streak
Then the Giants (6-8) matched San Francisco’s 28-point rally – from the same score – against New Orleans in 1980.
National Football League insider Adam Schefter reports that New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. will likely be suspended by the National Football League for one game for his outrageous and risky behavior in the Giants’ 38-35 loss to the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.
“I feel like the league should take a look what the guy was doing”, Norman said.
Norman also deflected blame, calling Beckham immature and saying he hoped he “pulled back the facemask on who [Beckham] really is”. A couple of plays later, Norman was whistled for a second personal foul – one fewer than Beckham’s total. Norman said when asked if he’d gotten in Beckham’s head. He came back and was hunting; and it was malicious in every way. “I mean it was ridiculous”.
Beckham, meanwhile, chalked it up to his competitve nature. “It is just unfortunate”.
Beckham received his third unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for the hit, but many believed the young Giants star should have been tossed from the game.
A few plays into the game, Beckham burned Norman down the field only to drop what would have been a long touchdown.
“The disqualification of a player is a judgment made by the on-field officials”, according to the League’s issued statement.
Norman said it’s fine if Beckham wants to “dance and prance around like a ballerina”, but he shouldn’t try to be something he’s not. A suspension is a possibility.
Carolina Panthers’ Greg Olsen (88) runs away from New York Giants’ Craig Dahl (43) for a touchdown during the first half of an NFL football game, Sunday, Dec. 20, 2015, in East Rutherford, N.J.
Patriots 33, Titans 16: FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – Tom Brady threw for two touchdowns to help New England hold onto the top spot in the AFC in a game that saw Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota knocked out of the game with a knee injury in the first half.
“Any other defensive guy would have been thrown out of the game for that”. It also capped a 100-yard rushing performance. We’ve just got to be better at finishing at the end.
Cam Newton did what any leader can do, and that is lead his team to victory as time expired, which locked up the MVP, going 16-0, and eliminated the New York Giants.
Still, Rivera likes the fact that Carolina’s final two games – against the Falcons, and next week at home against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers – both have some importance to the Panthers. Only the Dolphins won the championship, though. He did everything he possibly could to pick up some attention, yet stayed in the game, mostly left frustrated by the excellent defense on him, until his fourth quarter touchdown which nearly sent the game to overtime.
While the Giants are mathematically alive for a playoff berth, they must now defeat the Minnesota Vikings (9-5) next week to have any chance of saving their season. A loss or a Washington win and the Giants are eliminated.
