Carrie ‘Princess Leia’ Fisher Interviews New ‘Star Wars’ Heroine Daisy Ridley
Carrie Fisher doesn’t want actress Daisy Ridley making the same mistakes that she made when taking on the role of Princess Leia in the acclaimed Star Wars films. Ridley is obviously starting to learn the franchise-lead responsibility to a no-spoilers approach, because she laughed it off with a, “At this point, we’ll wait and see, I guess”.
Given that Fisher became a sex symbol for sci-fi fans crowd, she asks the newbie whether she’s nervous about becoming the object of all that nerd lust.
Listen! I am not a sex symbol, so that’s an opinion of someone.
Thankfully, in what we’ve seen of Ridley’s Rey in the trailers so far, her outfits appear to be as practical and covered up as her male counterparts, which is a happy surprise, considering this issue hasn’t changed much since Return of the Jedi came out in 1983. “You’re a kick-ass woman”, she gushed to Fisher, adding, “You paved the way for all the girls”.
Ridley acknowledges that it will, and then refers to Fisher’s status as a sex symbol.

Most of these questions may be answered when Star Wars: The Force Awakens reveals itself on December 18.
RIDLEY: Of course you.
People have been asking me about crushes out of the original film, and I say you every time.
“Of course, I like them both!” explains the 23-year-old United Kingdom native.
Fisher warned the British starlet about fans and their fetishes – a subject the veteran actress knows all too well from portraying the only major female character in the original “Star Wars” trilogy. “I want you and I to go to Vegas with all the swag and act like we’re normal people carrying “Star Wars” suitcases that they just sent me – hats, dresses”.
DR: I remember you saying that when you take pictures with people, you can feel their heart racing, and it humanizes them. “It wasn’t just about what I was expressing above the neck, it was also as focused on what I was expressing below the neck. I don’t share that”, Fisher insisted. “It’s quite a spectrum”, Fisher told the younger star. “That will make you uncomfortable, I’m guessing”.
