Underwood also rolled out the music video for her new single, “Smoke Break” on Monday night (Aug. 24).

The clip for “Smoke Break” includes Carrie in sexy Daisy dukes cruising on some dark country roads and walking in a dessert – definitely not your usual place for a smoke break! Here is the recap: Carrie Underwood earlier this week teased that she would be making a big announcement during her online chat with fans on Thursday (Aug 20) and she didn’t let them down.

CARRIE UNDERWOOD’S FIFTH studio album titled Storyteller has been set for an October 23 release.

Underwood, 32, previously told Entertainment Weekly, “I feel like [Storyteller] is just really relatable”. “And at the end, we all get together and have our break”.

“I feel like a lot of the songs that I wrote and gravitated to ended up being more traditional and “twangy” than anything I have ever done before”, she added about Storyteller. So has the singer succeeded in her mission with her new album? “I think it’s going to be really cool thing for him to know that that’s his song”.

“We were writing and kept taking breaks to go outside because we were getting a little stuck on a song we were already on”, Underwood answered on a Facebook Q&A. The singer exclaims, “When things get tough, sometimes I need a smoke break”.
