Carrier factory union chief standing ground against Trump
The union leader has said Mr Trump overstated the job savings of the deal and he had raised the hopes of workers, who would still see their positions shipped out of the country. Whereas 550 Carrier factory jobs in Chuck’s in plant at the center of the controversy alone are moving to Mexico, another 700 Carrier jobs are also still moving to Mexico, Jones told CNN.

Carrier’s parent company, United Technologies, admitted in an interview to CNBC that they are investing $16 million in automation in order to compete with Mexico.
“Nothing that says they’re gonna kill me, but, you know, you better keep your eye on your kids”.
“And Trump tells us that he was going to stand up to corporate America, but he ended up just.giving a tax break to keep the company there”, Sanders said.
After Trump blasted Jones in a tweet, Jones received calls from people threatening to come for him and asking what kind of auto he drives, he told MSNBC, according to The Associated Press.
The Washington Post also mentioned how Trump claimed that a Carrier employee had appeared on NBC after the election and said that Trump promised their jobs wouldn’t be sent overseas.
Jones told The Washington Post he had received death threats after Trump’s tweets. Jones, he said, had just left his office in Indianapolis, where he manages the needs of about 3,000 union members.
“They did not mention anything about 550 jobs here in IN going to Mexico”.
Jones supported Bernie Sanders during the campaign but said in the end “I held my nose and voted for Hillary Clinton“. Jones is a man who represents numerous working class folks that crossed over and voted for Trump in areas of the United States like Indiana.
“And that’s what I said, he took exception to that”, Jones said.
“We’re going to…automate to drive the cost down so that we can continue to be competitive”, Hayes said.
Burnett asked if Jones thought Trump should apologize, and he said, “I think he ought to make sure he gets all the facts straight before he starts talking about what he’s done”. “We know what kind of auto you drive.'” Other calls were “people calling [Jones] a bunch of bad names on the phone”. The Indianapolis plant only makes gas furnaces, although it has been frequently referred to as making air conditioners. “Big hand, gratitude goes out to him”.
If the president-elect wants to duel with me, I’m very much prepared to fight this cause to the last, he reaffirmed.
