Carson Accuses Cruz’s Campaign of Trying to ‘Distort Information’
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump speaks on Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2016, in Milford, N.H.
Trump has been leading the Republican polls in New Hampshire, which has historically favoured more moderate candidates than Iowa. He would also best Trump and Cruz in theoretical head-to-head bouts for the nomination. “Let’s give it a shot.’ They said, ‘Don’t do it.’ I said, ‘I have to do it.’ And, we finished second, and I want to tell you something, I’m just honored, I’m really honored”, Trump said.
Projected as an “establishment candidate” after his strong showing at the Iowa Caucuses, Florida Senator Marco Rubio has been boosted in his quest with three Republican presidential aspirants dropping out of the White House race and one of them announcing support for him. “That is why all of the polls were so wrong and why he got far more votes than anticipated”. He ended up 3 percentage points behind Cruz in the final tally. Ted Cruz committed “fraud” when he sent an email to supporters that implied Dr. Ben Carson had dropped out of the race. However, the news agency revealed an even bigger surprise for the evening with Rubio very close to Texan senator Cruz with only five percent away since Cruz received 28 percent from the Republican caucus voters.
Cruz, who previously held 12 percent of likely votes, has reached 15 percent of potential votes from likely Republican voters, according to the poll.
Rubio’s rise comes at the expense of other candidates, though. Trump, who campaigns heavily on poll results, failed to overcome rival Cruz, though. The University of New Hampshire’s Survey Center, which completed the interviews, will be calling voters each day between now and Monday, and CNN and WMUR will release updates to the numbers based on the most recent four nights of dialing on Sunday morning and Monday evening.
At another campaign event in Arkansas on Wednesday night, Mr Trump jabbed at his opponent, claiming that he was dishonest and helped push for the confirmation of United States supreme court chief justice John Roberts, who voted for president Barack Obama’s healthcare law.
