Carson campaign’s graphic fails to get New England right
The GOP presidential candidate’s campaign, as reported in the The Washington Post, took to social media Tuesday night to share a map detailing which USA states are for – and against – allowing Syrian refugees into the country.
We knew Ben Carson had big plans for changing the United States – we just didn’t know that included literally changing the United States. The map totally butchered the location of several states, including New Hampshire and NY.
The graphic, meant to laud states that oppose accepting Syrian refugees, shows Vermont wedged between NY and CT, and much of eastern New England stretched out to the north.
Also if you look closely at the mid-Atlantic area, you’ll see that Virginia’s portion of the Delmarva Peninsula is colored red to match Maryland, rather than gray with the rest of Virginia.
The map, posted to Twitter and Facebook, has since been removed and a corrected replacement posted.
Here’s the new map.
The Washington Post, which points out that this week is actually Geography Awareness Week, put together this graphic showing how off his campaign was.
