Carson Describes Time He Was Held Up at Gunpoint
“I have had a gun held on me when I was in a Popeye’s organization”, Carson said on Karen Hunter’s Sirius XM Radio program.
Instead of apologizing for his poor understanding of this widely reported dimension of the Umpqua Community College tragedy, Carson said that Mintz’s case “verifies what I’m saying; that’s exactly what should be done”.
Carson: No, I would provide the kind of leadership that says, “Get on the stick guys, and stop messing around, and cut where you need to cut, because we’re not raising any spending limits, period”.
Now, in another attempt to bolster his point, Carson is circulating a story in which he says he was faced with a criminal with a gun.
Carson has repeatedly argued since the Oregon shootings that gun violence does not justify stricter gun control. He wrote that comments Carson recently made on Fox News about confronting a gunman have been taken out of context, and that the reporting on the issue was “Not fair!”
Carson made headlines earlier this week by suggesting that if he were in a shooting situation, he would attack the gunman. They’re actually training students to deal with situations particularly in the way that Dr. Ben Carson stated here.
In his new book, “A More flawless Union”, the retired neurosurgeon also insists that Americans must have access to assault rifles and “armor-penetrating ammunition” to defend themselves from “an overly aggressive government”.
Carson, who also recently has said he would not like to see a Muslim as president, has remained steadily near the top of national polls as he seeks the Republican presidential nomination. He’d rather protect gun rights and people’s lives.
“If I had a little kid in kindergarten somewhere I would feel much more comfortable if I knew on that campus there was a police officer or somebody who was trained with a weapon”. “The Left would have you believe that a man that asked Christians to stand up [and then executed them one by one] would obey ‘new gun laws.’ That kind of logic explains numerous problems we find ourselves in today”. And I just said, “I believe that you want the guy behind the counter,”‘ Carson said.
