Carson: Muslim Supreme Court nominees deserve scrutiny
His relationship with the nation’s Hispanic community already strained, Trump vowed on Wednesday to deport any Syrian refugee taken in by the U.S. Most likely would be Muslim, and Trump warned they could be Islamic State militants in disguise.
“The last I checked we all had the right to decide who we wanted to advocate for”. A few said they appreciate that he doesn’t just blame Democrats, but acknowledges that the Republican Party has let them down, too. He has since explained: “Anybody from any faith, from any belief system, who comes to America, becomes an American citizen, embraces our American values and principles and is willing to subjugate their beliefs for our Constitution is somebody I have no problem with”.
“Would we ever accept a presidential candidate who would apply the same rules, who would say the same things about Jews and Blacks?”
And Monroe was coaxed into becoming a Carson “bundler” when the candidate’s son, a former cellist, promised to join one of her musical performances if she generated $100,000 for his dad.
However Carson fared in the debates, there’s no indication Carson’s grass-roots support has waned any.
People were nearly literally throwing money at him this week as his campaign bus greeted a handful of supporters on the side of the road after a stop in North Carolina. A You.gov poll suggests even worse attitudes, that 57 percent of Americans agree with Carson-including four out of ten Democrats and more than four out of five Republicans.
TRUMP: I would, yes, I would.
Carson said he felt NASCAR fans should be allowed to display the flag on private property if they wanted.
Bill Ruger, a 67-year-old retired engineer from Dover, said the media was to blame.
The Republican presidential contender recalled that he and his friends used to throw rocks at passing cars and then run from the police, “back in the day, before they would shoot you“.
Will this nation elect a Muslim as its president?
Bringing up the episode seemed to remind a few conservatives of the -isms the GOP is often accused of indulging in. Absolutely. I would put him – I’d love to have that … “I believe that the president and his administration and the media has tried to divide us, black and white divide us”.
Ruger was more blunt.
A recap: after Carson’s appearance on “Meet the Press” in which he described Islam as inconsistent with the Constitution, Ibrahim Hooper of the Council on American-Islamic Relations issued the following response: “You can not hold these kinds of views and at the same time say you will represent all Americans, of all faiths and backgrounds”.
“I don’t know what country he thinks he’s living in”, Clinton said Thursday in an interview with WHDH-TV in Boston. “And he’s not racist and we’re not racist as Republicans”. “We need a commander in chief who understands that and tries to promote our unity and not our divisions”.
