In an another sign that Carson’s campaign is struggling, Campaign Manager Barry Bennett and Communications Director Doug Watts have resigned amid the one-time top-tier candidate’s dropping poll numbers.
In a phone call with the Washington Post, Bennett said that his “frustration level has peaked with Dr. Carson’s outside advisers”. Having just announced raising $23 million for the fourth quarter, more than any other Republican candidate, and passing one million contributions and over 600 million unique donors.
As recently as November, Carson had challenged real-estate billionaire Donald Trump as the front-runner in national polls.
A source acquainted with the interior workings of the marketing crusade blamed acrimony inside the marketing crusade on Carson’s close confidante, Armstrong Williams. He also reported that the Carson team will announce a new campaign manager, Bob Dees, at a Monday press conference.
