Carson: ‘There’s A Reason’ The Nazis Disarmed Germany
Dr Carson replied: “I think the likelihood of Hitler being able to accomplish his goals would have been greatly diminished if the people had been armed. He may shoot me, but he can’t get us all,”‘ Carson said.
Dr Carson went on to defend his position during the interview.
The candidate says “there is a reason that these dictatorial people take the guns first”. His string of comments on hot-button issues includes questioning whether homosexuality is a choice, saying he would not support a Muslim for U.S. president and declaring last week that he would “not just stand there and let him shoot me” – a reference to the Oregon shootings. BLITZER: It was a powerful military machine, you know, the Nazis.
“The guy comes in, puts the gun in my ribs”, Carson recounted.
Ben Carson has strong opinions, and he’s not afraid to share them. “I would say, ‘Hey, guys, everybody attack him!”
On Sirius XM Radio yesterday, however, Carson painted a different image of himself than the hypothetical hero he purports to be.
“To me that doesn’t sound like a very controversial thing, but when you take it out of context and you try to make it look like I’m criticizing the victims, that’s when it becomes controversial”, Carson told CNN.
He also claimed that school teachers needed to be trained in the use of firearms, adding: ‘If the teacher was trained in the use of that weapon and had access to it, I would be much more comfortable if they had one if they didn’t’.
‘And when you do that you are compromising your freedom and the freedom of people who came behind you, ‘ he continued. “And I just said “I believe that you want the guy behind the counter”…I redirected him”.
