CBI Being Asked to Target Opposition, Says Kejriwal
AAP made fresh allegations against Jaitley questioning his and his family’s role in Hockey India.
Senior AAP leaders Ashutosh and Sanjay Singh launched a renewed attack on Union finance minister Arun Jaitley at the residence of Delhi education minister Manish Sisodia.
He said other irregularities had been found by SFIO during Jaitley’s tenure as DDCA chief and alleged that there was “non-disclosure of annual accounts” and “non-maintenance of accounts of expenditure and income”.
The tussle started when CBI raided Delhi CM’s on 19 December.
Addressing a press conference, Mr. Ashutosh asked the Finance Minister to clarify who the members of 21st Century were and whether it had any of his kin.
AAP’s Raghav Chadha said Rs 57 crores were siphoned off in the reconstruction of the Ferozshah Kotla cricket stadium when Jaitley was the DDCA president. “The registered address, e-mail and directors of these companies were the same”.
The allegations levelled by Aam Aadmi Party are previous costs already countered by Jaitley and Delhi and Dis trict Cricket Association the BJP claimed.
On Jaitley’s comments in his Facebook post that the Serious Frauds Investigation Office report had not found a “shred of evidence” against him, Ashutosh accused the Finance Minister of hiding the fact that punishment for offences mentioned by the Central agency included imprisonment. “This is a very specific question, nothing vague”, the AAP tweeted.
Describing Mr Jaitley as “master of half truth and lovely lies”, the party shot off five questions and asked him to come clean on them.
The AAP leaders also asked Jaitley to tell about his relationship with Hockey India chief Narendra Batra. Last month, the Delhi Government’s probe into the DDCA’s operations highlighted corruption and lack of transparency in its functioning. They said Home Ministry had communicated to Sports Ministry about irregularities in DDCA following which it wrote to Delhi Government.
The CBI has said that it raided the Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary Rajender Kumar over corruption charges, and never entered or searched Kejriwal’s office.
