CBI did search Kejriwal’s office, says Sisodia
Coming down heavily on Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal over his remarks on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP leader Kiran Bedi on Tuesday said the act of Kejriwal was “unforgivable”, and even if he says sorry, it won’t be enough.
Global Anti-Corruption watchdog Transparency International has said that they had written to the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal about the alleged wrongdoings of his principal secretary Rajendra Kumar.
CBI has, however, denied the allegations.
CHENNAI The Enforcement Directorate (ED) searched the office of Karti Chidambaram, son of former Finance Minister P Chidambaram, in connection with its probe against firms owned by his friends, on Wednesday.
Dismissing Jaitley’s claim, Kejriwal today uploaded image of a document listing the files allegedly taken away by CBI from Delhi Secretariat.
Addressing a press conference, Sisodia wondered why the CBI had allegedly seized “file movement register of November-December” and “three files of transport department”.
The CBI has stated that seizures in the course of the searches in any respect 14 locations have been within the presence of unbiased witnesses as per process laid down by the regulation.
CBI spokesperson Devpreet Singh too clarified, “The search-cum-seizure memo contains details of seized items that will be produced before the competent court”.
“The raid was conducted to look for the files of DDCA (Delhi and District Cricket Association) in which Jaitley is involved in graft cases”.
Addressing reporters outside the Parliament, parliamentary affairs minister Venkaiah Naidu said, “They (Congress) are doing research to find new issues to stall Parliament everyday”.
“Blatant incorrect information is being spread by certain quarters since yesterday to discredit the agency with the intent to obstruct investigation”, Ms Singh said.
Kejriwal said his Government had set up an inquiry committee to probe alleged irregularities in DDCA which had submitted its report and he was to set up a Commission of Inquiry to carry out a detailed probe in the wrongdoings in the cricket body.
Kumar was not cooperating in opening in these emails till Monday night, following raids at his office and other places earlier in the day and the agency later took help of cyber experts.
“Whatever party is ruling in the centre if it uses CBI against the opponent, how can it be independent?” he asked.
Refuting the allegation, Jaitley said, “A state government and the party, which is in the dock for having supported corruption and interfered in the probe in this manner can not deflect the issue”.
