CBI spokesperson ’emphatically denies’ search of Delhi CM’s office
“Which law says that CBI should have informed the chief minister before raiding his officer’s office?” Despite knowing fully well that there was no possibility of finding the files of the case they were investigating, the CBI chose to raid the CM’s office on this pretext to lay its hands on files related to DDCA scam involving Finance Minister.
“They(CBI) had come to search for DDCA files which have Jaitley ji’s name, as he had been president of DDCA and probe is on in the case”, said Kejriwal.
“Arvind Kejriwal should apologize to the Prime Minister for using words like “coward”.
Kejriwal tweeted that his office was sealed Monday and that investigators were going through his files. “Now because his blue-eyed, so-called corrupt officer is being raided, why is Kejriwal running away from fighting corruption?” said BJP spokesperson Singh.
Following the series of tweets from Kejriwal on 15 December morning, thousands have taken to Twitter to post their own concerns over the prime minister under the hashtag #CowardModi.
“CBI lying. My own office raided”. Phoolka also said that the agency’s denials that it had not entered the Chief Minister’s office was a “mere eyewash”.
“The CM usually reaches office by 10 a.m. The CBI stormed into the office around 9.40 a.m. and asked the staff present there not to leave the office till the raid is completed”, a Delhi government official told IANS.
The Chief Minister, who is involved in a prolonged tussle with the Centre, accused the Modi government of resorting to vendetta politics and came down heavily on the agency for the raids at Players Building.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) condemned Kejriwal for the kind of language used to criticise the prime minister and said it was absolutely unacceptable.
2 Modi is a coward and a psychopath.
Kejriwal and Modi stood against each other in last year’s general election in the Varanasi constituency.
Arvind Kejriwal challenged Narendra Modi and his government to unleash all the might and machinery to its disposal.
“My words may have been harsh but it is you who have committed the real misdeeds”.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), in effect, shut the CM out of his office for one full day.
“The CBI has registered a case against a senior civil servant of the Delhi government and six others on the allegation that during the period 2007 to 2014, he, along with others, abused his official position in awarding contracts from the Delhi Government to a private firm”.
