CBS Replaces Upcoming ‘Supergirl’ & ‘NCIS’ Episode In Light Of Paris Terror
Replacing this episode is a Thanksgiving-themed episode, originally planned to run on November 23, in which the female protagonist of the series is suspecting that her mother disapproves of her being a superhero.
Meanwhile, “NCIS: LA” is dropping “The Long Goodbye” this week, as the episode features a young girl who is being recruited to join the ISIS terrorist group. The episode that will air in its place focuses on a missing woman.
The TNT network isn’t airing an episode of its drama “Legends” on Monday because it depicts a terrorist shooting into a crowd in Paris. “Here’s their statement, also via THR: “‘As a result of the recent tragic events in Paris, tonight’s originally scheduled episode of Legends has been postponed.
CBS made the decision ‘out of sensitivity and respect to the events that occurred, ‘ a network insider told TVLine.com Sunday.
According to TV Line, both shows will still air Monday evening – but with different episodes.
The screening was scheduled to take place on Tuesday at the Olympia theatre in central Paris, but organizers have confirmed it will not be staged. CBS has instead scheduled “Livewire” to air on Monday. A December episode of “NCIS: Los Angeles” will air Monday as well. CBS hasn’t rescheduled the original episodes yet.
Elsewhere, U2, along with LiveNation and HBO, canceled two concerts in Paris meant to be performed over the weekend, with the cable network scrapping its plans to air Saturday night’s performance live. Examples include shows like Family Guy and Hannibal that were yanked after the Boston Marathon bombing, and an episode of Mike and Molly that was pulled because it was about a huge tornado that struck. The September 11, 2001, attack in the United States, for example, led to the cancellation or rescheduling of many movies and shows dealing with extreme violence or large-scale attacks.
