Her grandmother had handed her a handwritten good-luck note and assured her that the reward of all the hard work she had done will be her being able to select the stream of her choice in class 11. “Dates for re-examinations and other details will be posted on our website within a week”. Even, Education Minister Prakash Javadekar said that they’ll take strict action on it.
The party said RK Chaturvedi was appointed after continued criticism but his term was abruptly terminated in September 2017 after which Karwal was appointed. Meanwhile, for the first time, the CBSE chairman Anita Karwal has spoken to the media for the first time. “It has the best system when it comes to conducting examinations”. State boards with fewer resources are fighting exam malpractices in their own ways.
“This is very unfortunate”.
Javadekar said he could “understand the pain, anguish and frustrations” of students and parents because “we are one with them”. He insisted that CBSE has earned a name for conducting exams well.
Javadekar, however, put up a fearless front and said the culprits will not go scot-free.
The board said there will be a re-test of the Class 12 Economics paper as well and CBSE is looking into the “circumstances” that led the paper leak. Total 25 people have been questioned so far, he says.
The CBSE parents association also condemned the CBSE’s decision to conduct re-examination across the country as the question paper was leaked in Delhi region. He said the police is trying to find the origin of the leakage and how it was transmitted and the beneficiaries. Officials earlier said that initial inquiry had suggested that the papers were leaked a day before the Class 10 mathematics examination.
MLA and senior leader Nitin Tyagi on Thursday said it is a complete failure of the Central Government and Delhi Police that they could not stop the paper leak.
The Education Body CBSE, however, denied any kind of paper leak and urged students and parents not to get panicked. “Officials must be culpable, yet it is innocent students who will be punished”, Tharoor said.
The students took to Twitter to express their concerns over the retest.
Another teacher from a private school in Rohini claimed that class XII physics exam was also leaked on the WhatsApp.”Some Humanities students showed it to me…”
On March 23, CBSE received a fax from an unknown number, stating that a coaching centre and two CBSE schools have leaked the paper.
However, he defended the CBSE saying that the board has earned a name for itself due to the manner in which it has conducted free and fair examinations in the past.
