Ceiling fan falls on Lalu during election rally
Rashtriya Janata Dal President Lalu Prasad has been found guilty of violating the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) during the on-going Bihar Assembly elections and has been cautioned by the Election Commission to abide by the MCC provisions in letter and spirit. Prasad came to address the election meeting in support of RJD candidate from Arwal Ravindra Singh when the mishap took place. “Rahul ji asked Laluji how he was doing”.
At a rally in Motihari, Mr Yadav was seen sipping tea, looking warily at the fan, which was rotating dangerously. “Bijli kaat (cut the power)”, said the previous boss clergyman, indicating at it. Inside of minutes, his reasons for alarm materialized and the fan fell, fortunately just knocking off his tea glass. Lalu winced in pain, but held on to his cup and kept sitting.
This is the second time in three days that Lalu has survived a rally scare. Prasad was at another side of the wooden dais.
The condition of the fan is yet unknown but Lalu is unhurt.
He jokingly told the crowd that he enjoyed blessings of Goddess “Sherawali” (Durga) and hence no harm could happen to him.
Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi called him up to enquire about the incident and his health. He hasn’t gone to jail for a few freedom struggle but for fodder scam.
And at a recent rally in Motihari, Lalu met his biggest fan (quite literally). 57 per cent polling was recorded in the first phase.
Accidents have got Lalu unexpected callers.
