Celebrities react after Holm KOs Rousey at UFC 193
Most mixed martial arts (MMA) fans and media members are still attempting to make sense of Holly Holm’s exhilarating upset of formerly dominant champion Ronda Rousey at last Saturday night’s (Nov. 14, 2015) UFC 193 from Melbourne, Australia.
“I didn’t want to look across and say I’m fighting Ronda Rousey”, Holm said. “I appreciate the concerns about my health, but I am fine. She’s the type of athlete that’s gonna keep distance… and get me frustrated, to the point that I’ll make a mistake and she’ll try to kick me in the head”. Rousey was temporary knocked out from the blow, and spent the night in an Australian hospital where she received stitches to close a “very big gash” on her bottom lip.
Holm, a former pro kickboxer, knocked Rousey out 59 seconds into the second round. Holm has now a clean record of 10 wins with no defeat, leaving Rousey with 12 wins and one defeat.
UFC President Dana White guarantees these two ladies will be competing with each other in the ring again in the future, but he also told news website TMZ Ronda is incredibly “bummed” and “depressed” over losing to Holly.
Prior to her setback against Holm, Rousey walked away with a blistering 34-second knockout of Bethe Correia at UFC 190. “Fake a- cheap shotting fake respect fake humility b-ch – “preacher’s daughter” my ass – I see through your fake sweet act now”, she captioned the video.
It’s been a busy year for Ronda Rousey. “She didn’t shock me”, she told TMZ.
Prior to the fight, Rousey had posted a brutal message directed at her opponent.
Not everyone was rooting for Rousey on Sunday. “The things she has done-no one can come close to them”, Tarverdyan said. We got into a few really good money.
As pundits debate whether Holm can be the UFC marketing juggernaut Rousey has been, and as the UFC pushes a rematch, New Mexicans can proudly claim a fighter who, in her mother’s words, is “a class act”.
