Celebrity chefs pull out of Trump’s Washington DC hotel
Trump took heat for his June 16 speech when he stated Mexican immigrants are “bringing drugs”.
While Republican Party mandarins wring their hands over Donald Trump’s presidential bid, the celebrity real estate mogul’s untethered political approach may actually be buoying Jeb Bush, the target of his most frequent attacks, and making the ex- Florida governor’s moderate approach to immigration more palatable in the process.
And Trump, presumably, told Priebus that he was a loser and that Trump’s tone was the greatest the world has ever seen.
On Wednesday, José Andrés said he would not open a Spanish restaurant in the hotel coming up in Washington DC’s Federal Post Office building.
“I am proud to stand with Donald Trump”, said Cruz, a US senator from Texas. Mexico doesn’t want people, and they’re forcing them into our country, and we’re taking them and putting them in our jails and our hospitals, and we’re paying them money through different sources. Many Mexican people I do business with.
In July 2014, Jones demanded $900,000 from the Mexican government for keeping illegal immigrants who have committed crimes in jail.
The Republican party didn’t go so far as to condemn the remarks, instead opting for saying publicly that the remarks were “not helpful” and apparently privately telling Trump to pull back on his fiery rhetoric.
Responding to the reports Thursday, Trump sent a tweet blasting “false reporting” and said in an interview with the Times that the call was closer to “15 minutes”.
Trump said he would “certainly try” to be himself and act presidential, saying, “You have to be tough, you have to be smart”.
In the list of most likely GOP nominee, Trump placed fifth with just seven percent.
“I disagree with Mr. Trump’s comments, and frankly I think when you look at the presidential candidates they’ve already pretty well made their position clear”, Boehner said when asked to weigh in. “We shouldn’t provide law enforcement monies for cities like San Francisco until they change their policies”. The GOP has spent years fomenting hostility towards undocumented immigrants and railing against “amnesty”, which in turn has empowered hardline anti-immigrant legislators like Rep. Steve King of Iowa, who has exerted disproportionate influence when it comes to setting the party’s agenda on immigration.
He said Trump and Priebus spoke, but he could not confirm how long it was or what was discussed. Such a disclosure is necessary for Republican candidates wishing to participate in the GOP’s first debate on August 6, according to guidelines released by organizers Thursday.
