Celebs Take Aim At The First GOP Presidential Debate On Twitter
“Well, I’ll tell you what, with Hillary Clinton, I said be at my wedding and she came to my wedding”.
She noted that he’d also donated to both Clintons’ campaigns. Ted Cruz and Ohio Gov. John Kasich. But enough about that and on to the main event. What I say is what I say. The two-hour discussion was moderated by none other than Fox News host Megyn Kelly.
I can approach this as an experienced observer of and commenter on the Trump 2016 phenomenon. “I can totally make that pledge”, he said. Every… single… time.
During the August 6 debate, Trump said of his nine fellow candidates: “Most of the people on stage, I’ve given to”.
Marco Rubio’s star power seemed to have cooled the past few weeks as other Republicans stole the spotlight, particularly Donald Trump, who has been dominating headlines with this controversial comments since he announced in June he was running for president. But when it happened, the rest of the field was caught flat footed by the fact that he actually announced. Each, to one degree or another, had his moments. “I do say this… if you’re going to do that to me I think it’s great, but you have to do it to everybody else or ease it up”. It’s like setting up a chess board in the park, inviting The Donald to do battle, and moving your Pawn to King 4.
Though it surely wasn’t his intention, Trump was illustrating the key problem with the current campaign finance system.
“Wait!” you cry out.
Trump didn’t deny it. And when Kelly was undeterred by his attempt to laugh off her question with a joke about comedian Rosie O’Donnell, he fired back.
Returning to the point I originally set out to make, our candidates aren’t just flummoxed by how to gain traction and get ahead of Trump in the polls. Kelly said as Trump jumped in to cut her off.
That prompted Sen. Rand Paul to interject: “He buys and sells politicians of all stripes”.
Women are a majority of registered voters. That’s really no way to win over the base, folks.
Bush said Democrats’ attacks against him show he is the candidate they fear most. That’s not the kind of sum that gets you invited to the governor’s mansion. It’s not Donald’s job to apologize for being famous.
“If it wasn’t for me, you wouldn’t even be talking about illegal immigration”. The question isn’t what’s wrong with Trump.
“That was a very touching moment – and the audience responded positively”. That’s a political suicide dive.
“You’d better believe it”, Trump said.
“These things come and go”, Rubio said on Fox & Friends on Friday about the positive post-debate response he has been receiving.
“He loves making trouble and being the 800-pound gorilla and showing ankle as a third-party candidate”, said Prof. We want to hear from you.
So Trump is doomed, right? There are reports of disagreements between Fox News president Roger Ailes and parent company News Corp.’s executive chairman, Rupert Murdoch, about how the network should cover Trump, for instance. Republican strategist Liz Mair said the debate “has done Trump a tremendous disservice for exposing him for exactly what he is – a philosophically ungrounded, unappealing entertainer”. That’s not much different from what Ed described happening at Red State Gathering.
Kasich went on to explain that the billionaire real estate mogul resonates with voters because some Americans think the government has worked against them.
“I don’t frankly have time for total political correctness”, Trump said.
