Celine Dion cancels gigs after death of husband and manager, René Angélil
Superstar singer Celine Dion had a premonition that Christmastime would be the last her husband and former longtime manager Rene Angelil would spend with their family of three children and her.
Rene has a second tumor removed from his throat, prompting Celine to take an indefinite leave of absence from her Las Vegas residency. A statement appeared via Dion’s official website reading: “The family requests that their privacy be respected at the moment; more details will be provided at a later time”.
The couple moved forward with their relationship, and in 1994 they were married in a lavish ceremony at Montreal’s Notre Dame Basilica.
“Rene says to me, ‘I want to die in your arms.’ (I say) ‘OK, fine, I’ll be there, you’ll die in my arms, ‘” Dion told USA Today in an interview.
She returned to performing last year after a year-long hiatus to look after Mr Angelil. “‘But they say they don’t know”.
The 73-year-old, who also mentored and managed the iconic singer’s career, passed away in his Las Vegas home on Thursday. “I kind of saw him differently”, the now 47-year-old singer shared.
BURLINGTON, Vt. – Authorities say a Canadian man was arrested while pulling a sled carrying more than 180 pounds of prescription pills across the border into the United States.
“Those are the words that come to me to describe his professional career”. At this time, it is unknown if any of the shows will be canceled.
Speaking ahead of a return to performing concerts in Las Vegas she said: “All my grieving, it was during this previous year”. Her next scheduled show is February 23. In late 2013, the condition re-appeared and she cancelled all music activities to tend to him once again.
