Celine Dion Loses Brother to Cancer Days After Husband’s Death

Just days after the loss of her husband, Celine Dion faced another tragedy after her brother, Daniel, passed away after his battle with cancer as well.

The eighth of 14 children born to Thérèse Tanguay-Dion and Adhémar Dion, Daniel Dion spent his final days surrounded by his family.

The funeral for Angelil is scheduled for Friday at Montreal’s Notre Dame Basilica, the same church the two were married in 1994. Celine Dion has yet to mention her brother’s passing on the social media website.

“Celine is still in Vegas with her kids making plans for (her husband’s) funeral”.

Meanwhile a source noted how hard it was for Celine, as she and her many siblings are extremely close.

The death of Daniel Dion, 59, marks the end of an arduous, multi-year battle with cancer.

Daniel Dion died just a day after his family revealed that they believed he had just hours to live.

In his native Montreal, flags were flying at half-staff in honour of Angelil, praised by the city’s mayor as a man who ” never forgot his roots”.

“He was ready, and isn’t suffering any more”, she said.
